Obverse description Printed in green on white paper, the obverse carries the bank title DE JAVASCHE BANK in a bold header above the denomination TIEN GULDEN in a solid panel, with the bearer clause BETAALT AAN TOONDER beneath. An intaglio oval portrait vignette of Jan Pieterszoon Coen, wearing a period ruffled collar, occupies the right side, while the numeral 10 appears at the upper corners within an intricate guilloche border. Two manuscript signatures appear below, attributed to the Secretary and the President, with the issue date BATAVIA 17 OCTOBER 1927 at the foot.
