Obverse description The coat of arms of the Free City of Kraków occupies the central field: a quartered shield depicting a triple-towered fortified wall above a passant eagle, the whole surmounted by an elaborate royal crown with cross finial. The curved legend WOLNE MIASTO KRAKOW runs along the upper periphery in raised Latin letters, flanked by a beaded border. The heraldic composition is rendered in a precise neoclassical engraving style characteristic of early 19th-century Polish minting.
