| Obverse description | Bare-headed draped bust of Ferdinand IV facing right, with curly hair rendered in fine detail, truncation showing drapery and a small ornamental clasp at the shoulder. The royal title legend encircles the effigy, reading from lower left to lower right, with the date 1816 prominently placed in the exergue below the bust. The portrait is executed in a neoclassical style typical of the Neapolitan mint of the period. |
