Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing effigy of Ferdinand II, King of the Two Sicilies, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair. The king's portrait is positioned centrally in the field, with the encircling Latin legend beginning at the lower left and reading FERDINANDUS II DEI GRATIA REX. The date appears in the exergue below the truncation of the bust, separated from the legend by an inner border of fine beading.
