| Obverse description | Facing bust of Geronimo, the celebrated Chiricahua Apache leader, portrayed wearing a large ceremonial feathered war bonnet with elaborate fanned plumage extending to both sides of the field. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field, capturing the subject's strong, resolute features with fine sculptural detail. The legend REPUBLIQUE D'HAITI curves along the left and upper periphery, while the inscription GERONIMO CHIRICAHUA arcs along the lower border, both in raised Latin lettering. |
