The missing "IEOM" inscription on this type reflects a transitional moment in French Pacific monetary administration — the Institut d'Émission d'Outre-Mer had only been formally established in 1966, and early production runs from the Paris mint went out before the institutional branding was fully standardized across all denominations. Later issues corrected this, making the without-IEOM pieces a short production window confined to just these three to four years.
