Obverse description Bimetallic trial strike with a gold-coloured outer ring and a silver-coloured central plug. The outer ring bears the legend ETABLISSEMENT / MONETAIRE in raised Latin capitals, arcing across the upper and lower portions respectively. The central field depicts a stylised representation of vertical minting press rods or punches arranged in a row, set above a rectangular tablet inscribed PESSAC, referencing the Pessac mint facility. The overall design is austere and technical in character, befitting an official mint trial piece.
