Obverse lettering RAINIER III PRINCE DE MONACO P. TURIN 1950
(Translation: Rainier III Prince of Monaco P. TURIN 1950)
Reverse description The arms of Monaco — a shield bearing the traditional lozengy pattern of alternating red and white diagonal diamonds — occupy the central field, surmounted by a princely crown with fleurs-de-lis and arches topped by a cross. The denomination 10 to the left and FRS to the right of the shield flank the central design in bold block lettering. The Monegasque motto DEO JUVANTE (With God's Help) arcs along the lower periphery, with the word ESSAI inscribed in smaller characters to the lower right. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
