Reverse description The reverse bears a faithful high-relief reproduction of an ancient Parisii gold stater, depicting a stylized head facing right with dramatically flowing, curvilinear hair rendered in the distinctive La Tène Celtic artistic tradition. The facial features are rendered in a schematic, abstracted manner characteristic of Gaulish coinage of the 1st century BC, with large, globular eyes and a prominent nose. The flowing locks radiate from the crown in bold, sweeping volutes that fill the entire field. The design is unlettered, referencing the archaic prototype directly, and is framed by a plain raised rim.
