The Kommandos de la Reconstruction were German-organized labor units deployed across occupied France to repair war-damaged infrastructure. In the Eure department, as elsewhere, these detachments issued their own scrip to pay workers — French civilians and, in some cases, conscripted labor — bypassing the regular banking system entirely. The notes functioned as internal currency redeemable only within the unit's economy, which kept wages from entering French civilian circulation.
Scrip of this type was never catalogued systematically during the occupation, and surviving examples vary considerably in printing quality and paper stock. The green paper of this series is a known characteristic, not a variant.
