Additional information

The Democratic Republic of the Congo has issued an extensive series of automotive commemoratives, largely marketed through European distributors to the collector novelty market rather than circulated domestically. The "Buick Model C" designation refers to Buick's early single-cylinder runabout produced around 1904–1905, one of the first vehicles sold under the Buick name after William Durant acquired the struggling company and folded it into what would become General Motors in 1908.

Durant's rescue of Buick is widely considered the financial seed of GM's founding.
