Obverse description Central field features a multi-line Arabic inscription enclosed within an ornate cartouche of Islamic geometric strapwork, flanked on either side by upward-curving olive or laurel branches that frame the legends. The uppermost line bears the name of Ahmad Pasha Bey in stylized Arabic calligraphy, followed by the title 'Bey of Tunisia,' the denomination '10 Francs,' and the Hijri date 1353 at the base. The inner border of the cartouche is composed of interlocking geometric motifs characteristic of North African decorative tradition. A plain inner rim separates the design from the reeded edge. The overall composition is purely epigraphic and ornamental, with no portrait effigy.
