Obverse description Central depiction of the Liberty Statue (Szabadság-szobor) monument atop Gellért Hill in Budapest, rendered as a standing female figure with arms raised aloft, holding a palm frond. Radiating lines emanate from the base of the figure, suggesting light or liberation. The circular legend MAGYAR NÉPKÖZTÁRSASÁG (Hungarian People's Republic) runs along the upper periphery, with the mint mark BP. flanked by two stars positioned at the lower field. The rim is decorated with a repeating tooth-and-notch border.

Reverse description Large bold numeral '10' dominates the upper field, with the denomination legend FORINT inscribed below in smaller lettering. Centrally placed beneath the denomination is the circular FAO emblem featuring stylised wheat stalks and the letters F, A, O arranged within an oval design. The date 19 81 is divided on either side of the FAO emblem in the lower field. The rim is decorated with a repeating tooth-and-notch border matching the obverse.
