| Reverse description | A finely detailed Chinese imperial dragon occupies the central field, depicted in high relief in three-quarter facing view with head raised, scales rendered with great precision, claws outstretched, and a flaming pearl implied by the surrounding cloud and flame motifs. The Latin legend SZECHUEN PROVINCE arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 7.2 CANDAREENS curves along the lower arc. Small decorative rosettes or pellets are placed as separators between the legend elements within the beaded inner border. The overall design reflects the work of the Philadelphia Mint under engraver Charles Edward Barber, combining Western minting techniques with traditional Chinese iconography. |
