| Obverse description | Central field bears four large Chinese ideograms arranged in a cross reading top to bottom and right to left, with Manchu script characters occupying the centre. The entire central device is enclosed by a circular band of additional Chinese ideograms denoting the province of issue, the reign title Guangxu, and the weight denomination of 7.2 candareens. The inscription follows traditional Qing dynasty coinage conventions, combining Chinese and Manchu bilingual legends as required by imperial decree. |

A circumferential Latin legend arcs around the upper and lower periphery, separated at each side by a small decorative rosette. The entire design is enclosed within a toothed or dentilated border. |
