| Obverse description | Central field bears four principal Chinese ideograms arranged to be read top to bottom and right to left, denoting the reign title Guangxu and the mint origin Taiwan. Surrounding these central characters is a further ring of Chinese inscription indicating the denomination and weight standard of 7.2 candareens, as well as the designation Yuanbao (original currency). The legend is disposed in a traditional circular arrangement conforming to the conventions of late Qing provincial coinage. |
