| Obverse description | The obverse of the coin depicts the history of the city through artistic means: the centre features the Gediminas’ Tower, around which the life of the city revolves, with the images of the city’s buildings portrayed in a kaleidoscopic way and the year of the founding of the city (1323) incorporated in the image. The composition represents a bird’s eye view. Below there is the inscription LIETUVA (LITHUANIA), the denomination (€10), the year of issue (2023) and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint. |

| Reverse description | The reverse of the coin depicts the legend of the founding of Vilnius through artistic means. According to the legend, Gediminas, the Grand Duke of Lithuania, following a hunting trip, dreamt of an iron wolf, whose loud cry moved the waters of the Neris River. A sage named Lizdeika explained to Gediminas that a city would be built here, and its name would be heard all around the world. The composition is surrounded by the inscription “VILNIUS”, “700” and the initials of the author. |
