Reverse description The reverse presents a finely modelled portrait bust of Viktor Kubal facing slightly to the left, occupying the upper and central field with a high degree of sculptural realism, capturing the artist's distinctive features including his moustache and characteristically dishevelled hair. To the lower left, two stylized cat figures drawn in Kubal's signature animated cartoon style stand beside the portrait, serving as emblems of his celebrated animated works. The honoree's name 'Viktor Kubal' is inscribed in cursive script along the lower field, and the dates '1923' and '1997', denoting his birth and death years respectively, appear in two lines to the right of the portrait.

Additional information

Viktor Kubáľ (1923–1997) was Slovakia's most celebrated animated film director, best known for creating Jurko the Brigand and the long-running Cunning Dracula series — the latter running to dozens of episodes and becoming genuinely cult television across Czechoslovakia from the 1980s onward. Slovakia has issued commemorative coins for cultural figures with increasing regularity since independence, and this piece marks the centenary of his birth.
