Several views of major French museums. An interior view of the Musée d`Orsay, top left, with its distinctive clock. Next to it, a view of the Louvre facade from the Cour Napoléon, where the pyramid stands. Below these two elements, a fresco shows the Hôtel Salé, home to the Musée Picasso. The lower section shows the façade of the Hôtel Biron, now the Musée Rodin, and above it, the famous staircase of the Centre Pompidou. The face value and the words `RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE` are also inscribed.

Reverse description
The reverse of the coin features in the foreground the sculpture of Niké, the goddess of Victory, a symbol dear to Hellenistic Greece. Embellished with wings and drapery, this statue, here without arms or head, descended to earth to honor the victor, according to legend. The columns in the background may also refer to the room in which the monument is displayed at the Louvre Museum. They also symbolize the columns of the Pantheon in Athens, a landmark of ancient Greece.
