| Obverse description | The obverse features a full-length figure of a traditionally robed Ryukyuan court dignitary standing in the foreground, dressed in an elaborately detailed ceremonial kimono and holding a staff, rendered in high relief against a finely engraved background depicting the principal gate and palatial pavilions of Shuri Castle. The legend CHÂTEAU DE SHURI · 首里城 arcs along the upper border in both Latin and Japanese scripts. The date 2025 appears in the lower left field, while the republican monogram RF is positioned to the lower right. A small engraver's privy mark is visible at the lower right of the design field. |
