Additional information

Issued as part of the long-running Regions of France series, which Monnaie de Paris launched in 2010 to produce a silver ten-euro coin for each of metropolitan France's then-22 administrative regions. Picardy, one of the oldest regional designations in northern France, was abolished as an administrative unit in 2016 when it was merged into the new Hauts-de-France region alongside Nord-Pas-de-Calais — giving this series an inadvertent documentary function it wasn't designed to have.
