The face of the writer Jules Verne appears in the upper right-hand corner of the coin. His first and last name `JULES VERNE` is written next to his face along the scroll. At top left, the means of transport used in the extraordinary voyages novels are visible: a hot-air balloon in a storm, a rocket in the stars arriving in the orbit of the Moon and a submarine avoiding a giant octopus. At the bottom of the coin is the outline of the Picardie region, with the letters `RF` for République Française above it. Along the scroll is the name of the region `PICARDIE`.
