| Additional information |
Phryge — the small Phrygian cap mascot adopted for the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics — was selected through a public design process intended to revive a revolutionary-era French symbol. This billon issue is part of a sprawling series of collector coins released by the Monnaie de Paris in connection with the Games, with individual pieces dedicated to French natural and cultural landmarks. The Dune du Pilat, Europe's tallest sand dune at roughly 106 meters, sits on the Atlantic coast near Arcachon and has been a classified natural site since 1994.
