Reverse description The reverse presents a richly detailed scenic composition depicting Pehr Kalm, the Finnish-Swedish botanist and explorer, shown as a full-length figure in 18th-century dress and tricorn hat, bent attentively over a surveying instrument mounted on a tripod. Behind him, a dramatic panoramic landscape with a large waterfall — evoking Niagara Falls, which Kalm famously described — fills the field. The legend APOSTOLVS LINNAEI arcs along the upper border, accompanied by a decorative motif of Kalmia blossoms beneath it. To the left, the inscriptions PEHR KALM and 1716–1779 identify the subject, while the denomination 10 € appears to the right. The European mint mark appears at lower right.
