Reverse description The reverse presents a charming children's drawing-style design depicting a circle of children of diverse appearance holding hands around the perimeter of the coin. Within the central roundel, a naïve landscape scene includes mountains, conifer trees, a sailboat on water, a flowering tree, and a heart motif, evoking an innocent, fairy-tale vision of Austria. The word ÖSTERREICH is inscribed in a playful script across the lower portion of the central globe. The overall design is rendered in a deliberately simple, hand-drawn aesthetic consistent with the Märchenhaftes Österreich (Fairy Tale Austria) commemorative series.

Additional information

Austria's silver €10 commemorative program, running from 2002 onward, was designed explicitly to fund the Austrian Mint's operations through collector premiums rather than circulation revenue. By 2016 the series had expanded to cover Austrian landscapes, folklore, and infrastructure — each issue sold directly to the public at a markup over melt, making circulated survivors genuinely rare. KM#3257 has not accumulated a strong secondary literature, and inflated claims about this type should be treated skeptically.
