| Reverse description | A large, ornately detailed Maltese Cross dominates the entire field, its eight points richly engraved with foliate and scrollwork decoration and each arm terminating in a V-shaped indentation. A small cross pattée is depicted at the centre of the design. The country name MALTA is arranged around the upper portion of the cross arms, with the year of issue inscribed on a small scroll at the top. The fineness marks 9999 appear to the left and right in the field, while the inscription 1/10 OZ FINE GOLD curves along the lower periphery. A fine radiate engine-turned background fills the field between the cross arms. |

| Additional information |
Malta's Maltese Cross series, issued in fractional gold, draws on the island's association with the Knights of St. John, who held Malta from 1530 until Napoleon's largely bloodless seizure in 1798. The Knights adopted the eight-pointed cross as their emblem during the Crusades, and its geometric form has persisted on Maltese coinage and heraldry ever since — long outlasting the Order's political authority over the island.
The KM#276 assignment suggests the 2025 date carries a distinct reverse, a pattern consistent with how the Central Bank of Malta has managed this ongoing series.
