Reverse description The central field features the winged serpent with a crown, the renowned heraldic device used as the personal monogram and painter's mark (signet) of Lucas Cranach the Younger, rendered in bold relief. The creature's sinuous body coils prominently in the lower field while its wings extend upward, faithfully reproducing the Cranach workshop emblem. The legend LUCAS CRANACH DER JÜNGERE curves along the upper periphery, with the artist's life dates 1515–1586 inscribed in the lower exergual area. A small Œ monogram appears to the left of the serpent, referencing the engraver's mark.
