| Obverse description | The obverse features a stylized map of the Languedoc-Roussillon region occupying the central field, rendered in relief against a finely lined background. Superimposed over the regional map is the bold monogram 'RF' (République Française), the national identifier of France. Above the map, a decorative motif of grapevine branches with stylized bunches of grapes alludes to the region's celebrated viticulture. Part of the Monnaie de Paris "Régions de France" series launched in 2010, which produced a silver 10-euro piece for each of metropolitan France's then-22 administrative regions. Languedoc-Roussillon's entry is the "1st type," distinguishing it from a second variant issued the same year — an unusual doubling within a single annual series that resulted from the program's ambition outpacing its planning.
