| Obverse description | The obverse presents a composite panorama of celebrated French museum landmarks arranged across the rectangular field. In the upper left, an interior view of the Musée d'Orsay is depicted, rendered identifiable by its iconic arched clock. Adjacent to it, the Louvre's principal façade as seen from the Cour Napoléon is rendered with the glass pyramid in the foreground. The lower register features a fresco-style representation of the Hôtel Salé, home of the Musée Picasso, alongside a view of the Hôtel Biron housing the Musée Rodin, and the distinctive external escalator stairway of the Centre Pompidou.
