| Additional information |
Part of the long-running "Régions de France" series issued annually by the Monnaie de Paris, this piece corresponds to the Île-de-France administrative region — the most densely populated in the country and home to roughly 20% of the French national population despite covering under 2.2% of its land area. The series was structured so that each regional issue circulated primarily within its own region, though in practice they moved little at all, absorbed immediately by collectors.
