Reverse description The reverse presents a large bust of Spanish conquistador Francisco de Orellana facing slightly right, depicted wearing a broad-brimmed hat and an ornate period ruff collar with armour, occupying the left portion of the field. To the right, a smaller scene depicts a group of explorers rowing a longboat across a river, evoking Orellana's historic navigation of the Amazon River. The denomination 10 EURO is inscribed in large lettering at the upper right, accompanied by the stylised Euro symbol, while the Madrid mint mark M appears below the boat scene. The name FRANCISCO de ORELLANA is inscribed along the lower arc above the bead border.
