| Obverse description | The obverse features two overlapping coin effigies rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field, evoking the transition from the Spanish peseta to the euro. The larger left coin depicts the bare-headed portrait of King Juan Carlos I in left-facing profile, inscribed with partial legends referencing the peseta coinage.
