| Reverse description | The reverse features a full-color reproduction of Francisco de Goya's celebrated painting 'El Quitasol' (The Parasol, c. 1777), executed in polychrome enamel applied within a recessed square panel. The composition faithfully renders a seated young woman dressed in an elegant blue and yellow gown, holding a fan, shaded by a large green parasol held by a young man standing behind her in brown and red attire; a small dog rests at her feet. The scene is set against a softly rendered landscape background characteristic of Goya's tapestry cartoon period. The legend 'EL QUITASOL' is engraved along the lower border of the coin. The entire design is framed by the same ornate decorative border as the obverse, consistent with the stamp-inspired format of the issue. |
