The legend 10 EURO 2023 REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH is inscribed around the design in Latin characters. Additional information

The Chamomile coin is the eighth release in Austria's "Healing Stones and Flowers" series, which the Münze Österreich has been issuing since 2016 to highlight medicinal plants native to or widely cultivated across the Alpine region. Austria has a long institutional relationship with herbal pharmacology — the Vienna Pharmacopoeia, one of the oldest continuously revised pharmaceutical reference works in Europe, included chamomile preparations in editions dating back to the eighteenth century. The niobium-core issues in this broader thematic family are more widely collected, making the sterling silver variants comparatively underappreciated in the secondary market.
