| Additional information |
Issued to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, this piece was produced by the Royal Dutch Mint as a collector item rather than a circulation strike. The Belastingdienst traces its modern organizational form to 1806, when Louis Bonaparte — installed as King of Holland by his brother Napoleon — restructured Dutch fiscal administration along French bureaucratic lines.
Mintage was tightly restricted, keeping secondary market premiums firm over spot.
