Part of Monnaie de Paris's long-running "Astérix" collector series, this issue draws on the 1995 album La Galère d'Obélix — or more broadly on the recurring banquet scenes that close nearly every Astérix volume, a tradition Goscinny and Uderzo established from the first book in 1961. The .333 fineness places it firmly in billon territory, a deliberate cost control that keeps these broadly themed issues accessible to casual collectors rather than dedicated silver buyers.
