| Obverse description | Central design featuring a stylized architectural structure, possibly a historic Croatian landmark, rendered in relief within the coin's field. The upper portion of the obverse bears the trilingual legend ESSAI - PATTERN - PROBE arranged across the field, indicating the coin's status as a trial or pattern piece. The year of issue 2006 appears in the lower exergue. The overall design aesthetic is consistent with European-style pattern coinage of the early 21st century. |

The "Europ Ceros" issues were Croatia's European Community candidate coins — unofficial fantasy pieces produced to circulate the idea of Croatian euro adoption before the country's accession was finalized. The Mandić reference places this squarely in a privately catalogued series rather than any official Croatian National Bank release.
Croatia did not adopt the euro until January 2023.
