| Additional information |
Part of Monnaie de Paris's ongoing series celebrating Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's 1943 novella, this issue appeared in the same year as the 75th anniversary of Saint-Exupéry's disappearance over the Mediterranean — July 31, 1944 — though the anniversary marketing leaned harder on the book's publication date. Saint-Exupéry was on a reconnaissance mission for the Free French Air Force when his Lockheed F-5B failed to return. The wreck was not located until 2000, off the coast of Marseille.
