Reverse description The reverse displays a large geographic map of the European continent extending to the right-hand field, rendered without internal national borders in accordance with the second common reverse design adopted across the Eurozone in 2007. To the left of the denomination, twelve vertical lines topped with stars represent the non-mapped EU member states. The value '10 EURO CENT' is inscribed in bold relief across the lower portion of the field, with the engraver's initials 'LL' for Luc Luycx positioned to the right of the denomination.

Additional information

The "2nd map" designation refers to the revised eurozone map introduced across all euro cent denominations in 2007, replacing the original design that showed only the fifteen pre-enlargement EU member states. The change followed the accessions of 2004 and subsequent rounds, making the earlier map politically awkward for the ten new members whose territory simply did not appear on their own coins.
