| Obverse description | Central device features the Portuguese Mozambique coat of arms superimposed upon an armillary sphere, the shield quartered with the five escutcheons of Portugal to the left and the colonial Mozambique emblem incorporating a palm tree and waves to the right. Above the sphere, a mural crown with five towers spans the upper field. The legend MOÇAMBIQUE arcs across the upper periphery, flanked by small floral ornaments at each side of the lower field. The denomination 10$00 is inscribed in large characters along the lower portion of the coin, with the dollar sign incorporated into the numeral sequence in the traditional Portuguese escudo style. |
