Obverse description Central shield bearing the arms of Portuguese Mozambique, divided into quarters depicting the Portuguese quinas (five escutcheons) and a stylized globe segment with meridian lines, surmounted by a pointed chief with wavy lines representing the sea in base. The colonial legend COLONIA DE MOÇAMBIQUE arcs around the full circumference, with the denomination 10$00 flanked by raised dots in the lower exergue. The design is executed in a clean, low-relief style characteristic of Portuguese colonial coinage of the 1930s.
