Reverse description Central oval cartouche bearing the arms of Gdańsk — two crosses beneath a crown — supported on either side by rampant lions, with a double-headed eagle displayed above the shield. The elaborate heraldic composition is flanked by scrollwork and decorative mannerist ornament, with additional devices in the lower field. The circumferential Latin legend, attesting that the coin was struck from solid gold by the Royal City of Gdańsk, runs around the inner border.
