| Obverse description | Crowned and draped bust of Sigismund II Augustus facing right, set within a finely engraved laurel wreath border. The king is depicted with a short beard, wearing an ornate crown and mantle rendered in fine Renaissance style. The date 15-6Z (1562) appears divided on either side of the effigy within the wreath. A circular Latin legend surrounds the wreath, separated from it by a beaded inner border and an outer beaded rim. |
