| Obverse description | A finely engraved panoramic cityscape of Regensburg (Ratisbon) dominates the field, depicting the city's skyline with towers, spires, and fortifications along the Danube, with a prominent multi-arched stone bridge in the foreground and small boats visible on the river. Billowing clouds fill the upper field above the city. The curved legend around the upper periphery reads ADIVTORE ALTISSIMO APESTE LIBERATA SECVRE, and the city's Latin name RATISBONA appears in the lower segment below the bridge, separated by a raised border. The engraving is executed in a detailed, baroque pictorial style characteristic of early eighteenth-century German medallic art. |
