| Obverse description | Central device features the elaborate quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg displayed within an ornate oval cartouche, surmounted by the archbishop's galero (ecclesiastical hat) and full pontifical regalia. The shield is surrounded by an ornamental inner circle with elaborate baroque decorative scrollwork. The circumferential legend in Latin reads in full, incorporating the archbishop's name and titles, with the date 1686 split across the lower field. The overall composition reflects the high baroque engraving style characteristic of late 17th-century Austrian ecclesiastical coinage. |

| Reverse description | Two seated figures of the patron saints of Salzburg are depicted facing one another in a symmetrical baroque composition: at left, Saint Rupert (Rudbertus) holding a salt box as his traditional attribute, and at right, Saint Virgil (Virgilius) holding a model of the Salzburg Cathedral, each also bearing a crosier. The figures are rendered in a formal, hieratic style consistent with high baroque ecclesiastical medallic art. The circumferential legend in Latin identifies both saints as patrons of Salzburg. |
