Reverse description Large, elaborately quartered heraldic shield occupying most of the field, surmounted by a princely crown of ornate design. The multi-quartered arms incorporate the lion passant of Brunswick, the lion rampant of Lüneburg, and additional territorial charges including the eagle and other dynastic devices, all rendered in fine relief. The circumferential Latin motto legend reads EX DVRIS GLORIA, meaning 'Glory from hardships', accompanied by the date ANNO 1670, separated by decorative stops. A toothed border runs along the rim.
