Obverse description Central six-fold coat of arms featuring the Brandenburg scepter arms in the centre, surmounted by the electoral hat. The elaborate quartered shield displays the various territorial arms of the Margraviate. An inner circular legend carries the continuation of the ruler's titles and the date 1570, while the outer legend along the coin's periphery reads the principal titles of Elector Joachim II Hector of Brandenburg. All lettering is rendered in Renaissance Gothic capitals with cross and annulet stops separating the words.
