| Reverse description | The entire reverse field is occupied by an eleven-line Latin dedicatory inscription in capital letters, rendered in a bold engraved style, recording the victory of Gustav Adolf II, King of Sweden, Goths, and Vandals, over the Imperial and League forces at Leipzig on 7 September 1631. The date is given in Roman numerals (MDCXXXI) at the conclusion of the text. A small decorative cartouche or ornament appears at the top of the field above the first line of text, and a similar foliate ornament with a small shield is placed at the base below the final line. |
