Reverse description A large royal crown surmounts a central cross dividing the field into four quadrants, each containing one of three principal shields arranged symmetrically at center. Surrounding the central arrangement is a circle of fifteen smaller oval shields, each bearing the heraldic arms of the various territories under Danish dominion. The mint mark GK appears at the bottom of the field below the central cross. The circumferential Latin legend encircling the entire design is contained within a beaded border.
