| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Ferdinand III facing right, depicted with shoulder-length hair and a short beard, wearing richly ornamented armor with a jeweled collar. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style typical of mid-17th century Habsburg coinage. A beaded inner circle separates the portrait from the circumferential Latin legend. Rosette stops divide the legend, which reads FERDINANDVS III D G ROM IMP S A G H BO REX. |

| Reverse description | Elaborately detailed quartered Habsburg imperial coat of arms, surmounted by a large imperial crown and flanked by ornate Baroque scrollwork cartouche with an angel's head at the top of the shield. The multi-quartered escutcheon incorporates the arms of Austria, Burgundy, Bohemia, Hungary, and other hereditary territories, rendered in fine detail. The date 1644 is divided across the upper field flanking the crown. The circumferential Latin legend, separated by rosette stops, reads ARCHI AVST DVX BVRG STYRIÆ ETC. |
